The About Us section of our site provides information on our ethos and principles, here we aim to show you how we introduce new children to the Nursery and the day to day pattern of our work. Click here to read about A typical day at the Nursery
Children can start at our Nursery once they are 6 months of age. Settling in visits All children are unique and the amount of time that a child takes to settle into our Nursery can vary enormously. Children will be given time to settle in at their own pace, ensuring they feel welcome, safe and confident. We encourage parents to help during this time. Key Worker Each child is allocated a key worker who will be responsible for monitoring the child's progress and keeping records about each child in their care. Parents can view their child's records at any time and we welcome their input. The key worker is also the first point of contact for parents and daily updates can be made to meet the needs of each individual child. Daily Diary Each child receives a daily diary which provides communication between home and nursery. In the diary we write information on how well your child's day has gone, what activities they have been involved in, what they have eaten and information on nappy changes and so on. Sleeping We follow the Department of Health's guidelines on sleep and take account of individual wishes. Our policy on sleeping can be viewed within the Parent Information area of our web site.
Meals/Snacks Parents of babies 6 months-1 year old are asked to provide all meals and snacks. Fresh food will need to be provided daily and formula milk bottles must be supplied ready made each day in labelled containers and bottles.
